Charleston Southern will be making its season debut as well on Friday, as the Buccaneers return seven lettermen and three starters from a team that posted a 16-16 overall record and a 9-9 mark in Big South play in 2010-11.  Junior forward Kelvin Martin is the team’s top returning player after averaging 12.3 points on 59.7 percent shooting from the field to go with 9.0 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game as a sophomore.  Fellow junior Jeremy Sexton and sophomore Sheldon Strickland also return after averaging 10.8 and 8.5 points per game, respectively, a season ago.  The Buccaneers averaged 73.8 points per game on 44.7 percent shooting in 32 games in 2010-11, while allowing 68.7 points on 44.8 percent shooting to its opponents. This will be the first meeting between the two schools, while K-State is 6-1 against teams from the Big South Conference, including a 6-0 mark at home.  The Wildcats have won six straight over Big South schools, including a 76-67 win over Presbyterian on Nov. 18, 2010.
